The Chapel of Kristus Aman's current facilities at TTDI are inadequate for our growing community's needs. A new church will provide a permanent and appropriate space for worship and community engagement.
The prayers of the parishioners of the Chapel of Kristus Aman (“KA”) over the past 40 years for a permanent home to worship the Lord has now been answered with the Selangor State Government’s gift of a piece of land of 18,000sq. ft. next to the Kwasa Damansara MRT Station. The parishioners of KA have been entrusted by Archbishop Julian Leow to this project of building the new Church which will be named the “Church of the Holy Spirit”.
The new church, named "The Church of the Holy Spirit,” will be situated at Lot 94217, Jalan Tasik Chanderoh U4/28A, Kwasa Damansara, diagonally opposite the Kwasa Damansara MRT Station.
The land for the new church was graciously allocated by the Selangor State Government to the Titular Roman Catholic Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur, recognising the necessity for a place of worship in this growing township. It also will contribute positively to the social and economic fabric in Kwasa Damansara.
The new church will not only fulfill the spiritual needs of KA’s parishioners but also foster a sense of belonging and community within Kwasa Damansara. It will provide a hub for fellowship, support, and outreach programs benefiting the wider community.
The new church, while serving the anticipated growing population of Catholics in Kwasa Damansara , will also cater to the spiritual needs of the surrounding areas, and the current community of the Chapel of Kristus Aman, now based in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail , where the facilities are inadequate and the building is ill-suited to serve as a proper place of worship.
The CHS Building Fund Committee, led by Rev. Fr. Simon Lau, oversees the project. The committee comprises 15 dedicated members with expertise in various fields, ensuring efficient execution and management.
The estimated development cost for the new church is RM16.0 million, covering expenses for building construction, M&E services, interior fit-out, consultants’ fees, and other ancillary expenses.
Construction is targeted to commence in Q1 2025, with the aim of efficient execution and completion by 2027.
Individuals can get involved by supporting our fundraising campaigns, volunteering, or contributing donations. Various initiatives and activities will be organized throughout the construction process to facilitate community involvement.
Yes, a Pledging Scheme will be launched , allowing donors to contribute by instalments or auto-debit deductions, making it convenient for individuals to support the project according to their financial preferences.
In accordance with the guidelines for tax exemption, we will at the appropriate time be applying for Tax Exemption from the relevant authority. Please check this space for updates.
